Dr. Robert Hall was named Corporate Medical Director in May 2010. In this role, Dr. Hall works with Optum clinical teams to establish evidence-based, managed care best practices. He advises customers and employees on how to address complex claims and resolve challenging workers’ compensation-related issues, and regularly guides policymakers and executive leaders on critical industry topics.


Dr. Hall has been practicing medicine for more than 16 years. In addition to his work with Optum, he is a practicing physician and provides electrodiagnostic and rehabilitation consultations focused on establishing evidence-based diagnoses, prognosis, and treatment recommendations for the patients he serves in private practice, private and state-run hospitals, and outpatient clinics. His areas of expertise include traumatic brain and spinal cord injury, amputation, pain management, musculoskeletal medicine, and stroke rehabilitation.


Dr. Robert Hall graduated from The Ohio State University (Cum Laude) with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and continued there to obtain his Doctor of Medicine. He serves as an adjunct assistant professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and is board certified in electromyography, as well as physical medicine and rehabilitation. Since 2009, Dr. Hall has been selected by his peers for inclusion in the Best Doctors in America® database on several occasions.
