New York Workers’ Compensation Board offers educational seminars on the CMS-1500 project
In preparation for final implementation of the CMS-1500 project and electronic billing requirements, the New York Workers’ Compensation Board is offering stakeholders several educational seminars.
As of August 1, 2025, all providers and claims administrators must comply with requirements to submit and accept medical and ancillary bills in an XML electronic billing format.
Each one-hour seminar will provide:
- A high-level overview of the CMS-1500 project
- The benefits of XML billing
- Information on currently authorized submission partners
- An update on the submission process.
The Optum Public Policy and Regulatory Affairs urges all impacted claims administrator clients and medical/ancillary service providers to attend one of the scheduled seminars. The sessions are free and there will be time at the end for questions. Register here.
