Matt Wolfe

Matt Wolfe was named Chief Executive Officer in July 2024. In this role, he leads a talented team focused on improving the industry and making experiences and outcomes for Optum clients and injured parties best-in-class.

Matt joins Optum Workers’ Comp and Auto No-Fault from the Optum Rx Pharmacy Benefit Management business, where he led capability strategy, development, and product lifecycle activities that drive the transformation of operations through improved technology and automation.

Matt’s career with UnitedHealth Group, the Optum parent organization, began in 2007. For almost two decades, Matt gained broad experience in digital product solutions, clinical and pharmacy product management, business architecture, and operational transformation — eventually becoming a Vice President with Optum Rx, the largest business within Optum. Prior to joining UnitedHealth Group, Matt was a strategic account leader in the loyalty marketing industry serving several Fortune 50 clients.

Driven by a long-held passion for improving quality and efficiency to deliver superior experiences for clients and stakeholders, Matt’s career has been defined by finding ways to improve business operations through strategic solutions, technology, and process improvement.

Matt holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing & management and an MBA in healthcare administration and resides in Minnesota.
