John Bencivenga, JD

John Bencivenga has held a General Counsel / Chief Legal Officer position with the organization since August 2007. In this role, John’s focus is on drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts, as well as working with internal departmental clients and outside counsel.

John has more than 27 years’ experience in legal, regulatory, and governmental aspects of the workers’ compensation and auto no-fault industries. His experience includes first and second chair experience in federal state appellate level cases, federal and state trial courts, and NLRB/state labor and arbitration matters with the firm of Thompson, Sizemore & Gonzalez, P.A. Prior to joining Optum in 2007, John handled and resolved employee-related matters, governmental affairs, vendor contracting, all real estate matters, and corporate compliance issues as the Director of Legal Affairs & Counsel for PharMerica, Inc.
