People who are Native American experience barriers to accessing care and resources, contributing to inequitable health outcomes and lower life expectancy compared to white Americans.1 The Western Slope Native American Resource Center (WSNARC) is striving to create more equitable experiences and outcomes for Native American residents on the Western Slope of Colorado.
Through a $200,000 investment from Rocky Mountain Health Plans, a UnitedHealthcare company, WSNARC was created as a single point of entry for families to access comprehensive community-based services. The organization provides connections to resources addressing needs related to social drivers of health (SDOH), peer support and access to health care.
