Empowering people with disabilities in rural Colorado

Growing up as a deaf person in Collbran, Colorado – a town of about 300 people – Staci Nichols experienced challenges accessing resources like interpreters and support groups. Today, Staci uses her experiences to serve as an Independent Living Coordinator at the NorthWest Colorado Center for Independence (NWCCI), working as an advocate and caretaker for people with disabilities in Moffat County.

Rocky Mountain Health Plans is proud to support NWCCI through collaborations to expand transportation and address other barriers to reduce the risk of social isolation and loneliness. Watch the video to learn more about how Staci works to empower people with disabilities in Moffat County.
