ICD 10 Conversion: We are Prepared for the October 1 Deadline

| Sep 25, 2015
The deadline for transitioning to ICD-10 coding for entities covered by HIPAA is October 1, 2015. This means that for dates of service on or after October 1, only ICD-10 coding should be used. Prior to that date, only ICD-9 coding should be used. Though not covered by HIPAA, workers' compensation and other property and casualty lines of insurance (such as auto no-fault) are affected. For example, many state workers' compensation agencies already have regulatory language in place or have issued statements calling for the use of ICD-10 coding in alignment with the October 1 federal compliance date.

Helios has completed all necessary systematic updates to accommodate ICD-10 code sets and we are ready to accept ICD-10 codes as of the compliance deadline.
