New resource to help you track changing state regulations due to COVID-19

April 4, 2020 · Policy Matters team

Keeping up with the continually changing state workers’ compensation policy developments related to COVID-19 is challenging, with updates appearing almost daily across various states. Individual workers’ comp agencies have issued emergency rules, orders and bulletins over the last few weeks addressing provision of medical care.

These developments include:

  • Guidance on the use of telemedicine, including loosening of requirements and direction on proper billing
  • Delay of state formulary implementations for legacy claims
  • Lifting of refill-to-soon edits
  • Relaxing of various claims handling, filing and processing deadlines

To help you keep up with the changes, our Public Policy & Regulatory Affairs team is providing a new index of various state workers’ comp medical updates related to COVID-19 ― which will be revised daily, Monday - Friday at this LINK.

We encourage you to refer to this resource regularly for a snapshot of what has been issued to date that may impact your claims handling processes for medical care.
