Brooke Mueller, Pharm.D.
As a Senior Clinical Pharmacist, Brooke Mueller manages the Optum Drug Testing and Monitoring (DTM) service. In this role, she provides training and direction to pharmacists in assessing inconsistent drug test results, and providing communication to the prescriber regarding recommendations and next steps regarding claimant results.
Prior to joining Optum, Brooke served as a clinical pharmacist for the North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health Administration at the Malcolm Randall VA Medical Center. In this role, she counseled patients on medication usage, potential interactions and other pertinent information. She also assisted primary care providers in the appropriate selection of medication, as well as processing and dispensing medications.
Brooke has extensive experience presenting to claims professionals, case managers, pharmacy students and residents on a variety of workers’ compensation industry topics. She has presented posters on the outcomes of the DTM service at several clinical conferences, including Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy, American Academy of Pain Management and PainWeek. She teaches drug information and managed care to senior Doctor of Pharmacy students at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy and Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) School of Pharmacy.
Brook received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from the University of South Florida and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Florida, Gainesville. She is a licensed pharmacist in the State of Florida and is a member of several professional organizations.
